These terms are an agreement between you and Clear for your use of the Clear app and website. By using Clear, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Clear.
Not medical advice
Clear provides general skincare information and suggestions based on your photos and answers. It is not a medical device, and it does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Results vary from person to person. Any “potential” or before-and-after preview is a simulated illustration, not a prediction or promise of your results. Always read product labels, patch test new products, and stop using anything that causes irritation. For a skin condition, a sudden change, or anything that worries you, talk to a doctor or dermatologist.
Your account
You must be at least 13 years old to use Clear, and if you’re under 18 you need permission from a parent or guardian. Keep your sign-in secure; you’re responsible for activity on your account. You can delete your account at any time in the app.
Subscriptions and free trials
- Clear’s features require a subscription, purchased through Apple. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
- If you start a free trial, you’ll be charged when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple account settings.
- Deleting your account doesn’t cancel your subscription. Cancel it in your Apple account settings.
- Payments and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms.
Products, prices and links
Product information, ingredients, prices and availability come from brands and retailers and can change or contain errors. We try to keep them accurate but can’t guarantee them. Purchases you make in a store are between you and that store. Store links are not affiliate links today. If we add affiliate links later, they may earn Clear a commission at no extra cost to you, and they will never change a product’s match. We don’t sell products ourselves.
AI features
Skin analysis, plans, product identification and Ask Clear use AI provided by OpenAI, which can make mistakes. Ask Clear may search the web, and those results come from other websites we don’t control. Use your judgment, and don’t rely on Clear for medical decisions. Your free scan is limited to one per iPhone.
Acceptable use
Don’t misuse Clear: don’t scan or upload photos of other people without their permission, don’t share content to Clear that you don’t have the right to share, try to break or reverse-engineer the app, interfere with our systems, or use Clear for anything unlawful.
Your content
You own the photos and information you add. You give us permission to use them to provide Clear to you, as described in our Privacy Policy. We don’t use your photos to train AI models.
Our app
Clear, its design, content and software belong to us and our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable license to use the app under these terms and Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
Disclaimers and liability
Clear is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent allowed by law. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Clear is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any skin reaction to products you choose to use, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Clear in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes and ending
We may update these terms; if changes are important, we’ll let you know in the app. We may suspend accounts that break these terms. You can stop using Clear at any time.
